Dove charming is an old Kabuli pastime. Many had dovecotes on the roof, they would fly their doves in the fading light of day, circling the roof the doves would rise up in the air. The evening sky of Kabul would be filled with flocks of doves. The object of the passion was to charm doves from other flocks (or flights) to join one’s own.
